Eligibility Requirements for FTAs & Preferential Duty Programs
NAFTA: Advise companies on the application of origin criteria to shipments between NAFTA trading partners and requirements surrounding the NAFTA certificate of origin. Mr. Bowen also represents and advises companies undergoing NAFTA verification audits. GSP & CBI: Advise on origin criteria of these programs applied to specific transactions, including whether foreign inputs are validly treated as local materials under value-added test. Petition the U.S. Trade Representative to add various products to the GSP eligibility list and to waive competitive need limits on various products. Represent and advise importers with respect to issues under Chapter 98 duty provisions (America Goods Returned, articles returned after repair or alteration abroad, return of U.S. steel products after being processed abroad, TIB entries). |
